Hi Peter - I haven't checked in the new algorithm yet, but for the 
current version and the version to come, you need Python 2.4, and you 
need to run "setup.py develop" or "setup.py install" so that all the 
dependencies get downloaded.

I will post again when the new algorithm lands in SVN.
