Sometimes that's true for *using* a framework.  But here, you're trying to 
*extend* it, so reading examples of other extensions is a good 
idea.  :)  However, I can see from your more recent post that you're now 
using one of the two existing Postgres drivers, so I'm guessing this is now 
moot.  :)
