This is another area I'll be covering in the PeakDatabaseApplications 
tutorial, whenever I can find the time to get back to it (many 12+ hour 
days lately :( ).

In the meantime, the 'bulletins' example has several fully functional data 
managers (including entity DMs which make use of query DMs), which is how 
I learned to use them.  The code is in 
examples/bulletins/src/bulletins/storage.py (relative to a PEAK source 
directory).
