[21:49:13] yep [21:49:56] Well, I got my host to make the sitecustomize.py change. It's an improvement. [21:51:01] unfortunately, the PYTHON situation was also a red herring. [21:51:06] uh oh [21:51:12] I mean PYTHONPATH. [21:51:54] It turns out what was *really* going on was that the connection to MySQL is dropped if it's idle for 8 hours. [21:52:15] And the Python library freaks out. [21:52:38] ah [21:52:54] I've raised the issue with the maintainer of mysqldbda, and am testing a simple patch. Looks good so far. [21:53:57] Actually, I'm not sure if it was a red-hering per se, or if it was actually masking the real problem. I didn't keep session transcripts of my investigations. [21:54:59] But, I am happy that no more customization of .bash_profile is necessary, for me or any of his other customers. So thank you! [21:56:02] no problem [21:56:13] Even if it wasn't a bug, it was a major annoyance. [21:56:36] And, eliminating it allowed me to find the real bug! [21:56:43] Yay! [21:57:11] Are you going to the Plone conference by any chance? [22:00:17] pje: Are you going to the Plone conference? [22:00:30] no [22:00:36] PyCon? [22:00:48] I couldn't even get Plone to install and work properly last week when I tried. :) [22:00:56] Pycon, maybe [22:01:16] Sounds like an *excellent* reason to come to the conference, to me.. ;-) [22:01:56] Well, if we're both there, remind me to treat you to a beverage-or-food-item-of-your-choice [22:02:42] OK? [22:21:51] pje? [22:21:59] yes? [22:22:19] If we're both at PyCon, remind me to treat you to a beverage-or-food-item-of-your-choice, OK? [22:22:46] oh, sure... but I'd have to know who you are. :) [22:22:55] * WebMaven blinks. [22:23:02] unless your badge is going to read "webmaven" :) [22:23:07] I'm Michael Bernstein [22:23:18] webmaven@cox.net [22:23:19] ok [22:23:32] webmaven on zope.org, etc. [22:24:40] Real names are for the weak :) [22:25:19] Heh. My cousin Aahz, would not agree. [22:40:29] ** bitmvnch has left IRC () [22:53:15] ** pje has left IRC ("Client exiting")
