[11:45:03] <pje> As for the progress bar, you need to subclass setuptools.package_index.PackageIndex and override the 'reporthook' method.
[11:45:46] <pje> Then subclass the easy_install command and change the 'create_index' attribute to refer to your PackageIndex subclass.
